Running economically viable farming systems, being socially responsible and producing more without increasing the environmental footprint – these are some of the biggest challenges the agriculture sector is facing today. To address these challenges, agriculture has to be able to make the most of the full range of innovative solutions, approaches & technologies.

From crop development to managing livestock, the future of EU farming lies in innovation. It aims to resolve the most pressing issues from maximizing efficient use of natural resources via better management practices to implementing new technologies and to increasing know-how. However, in order for innovation to make its mark, knowledge has to be shared in a better way and ideas translated into practice, while engaging all generations of farmers.

Join POLITICO for an in-depth conversation on the importance of innovation and the crucial role the EU will take in shaping the Agricultural sector by creating an appropriate framework for competitive and sustainable farming.

Questions to be addressed during the event panel will include:

  • What does innovation mean for agriculture?
  • What are the best management practices and innovative solutions inside and outside Europe that European farmers can leverage?
  • What is the appropriate regulatory framework to encourage the development and take-up of new technologies?
  • How can innovation be made accessible to all farms regardless of their size?
  • How can Europe incentivize young generations to take up farming?
